Johannesburg-Lewiston improves to 3-1 with win over Onaway

JOHANNESBURG, Mich. — The Johannesburg-Lewiston Cardinals girls basketball were looking to bounce back from their loss to Gaylord St. Mary. They did exactly that on Monday as they rolled past Onaway, winning 57-43. With the victory, Johannesburg-Lewiston improves to 3-1 on the season, while Onaway drops to 2-5.

Tara Madej led Johannesburg-Lewiston in scoring with 20 points. Jayden Marlatt added 14 points and Kennedy Johnson netted 13 points. On the other end, Breya Domke led Onaway in scoring with 13 points. Shelby Woiderski netted 10 points and Nicole Larson finished with seven points.

Johannesburg-Lewiston returns to their home court on Wednesday to battle Forest Area (1-6). Meanwhile, Onaway will look to get back on track on Friday where they will head to Bellaire (6-2) to take on the Eagles.
