Increasing Clouds Friday Leading to Showers on Saturday

The Sunrise Side has started summer with sunshine but cool temperatures. The high temperature reached only 67 degrees in Alpena with a breeze out of the east at 10-15 mph, off of Lake Huron. The cool spot in the local area was Harrisville with a high of 61 degrees. Farther inland, Mio warmed up to 71 degrees earlier this afternoon.

The clear weather will continue until early Friday. Then, a low pressure system currently entering Illinois will move eastward through Indiana and then pass through southeastern Michigan. This disturbance will bring showers Saturday morning and afternoon to Northeast Michigan, and light breezes out of the northeast will limit the warmth for the first weekend of summer. High temperatures on Saturday will reach only the upper 60s.

Tomorrow will start with sunshine in the morning and temperatures in the 50s. The high temperature is forecast to reach 74 degrees in Alpena, and clouds will increase late in the day and in the evening.

High temperatures will cool down on Saturday, the high will only reach the upper 60s with showers and a light northeasterly breeze. On Sunday, clouds will linger though temperatures will not be as chilly with a high around 73 degrees. By Tuesday, temperatures should warm up, getting close to the 80 degree mark.

For tomorrow, clouds will move in during the afternoon and evening with a high of 74 degrees. The first weekend of summer will start with showers and cool temperatures. High temperatures will gradually warm during the upcoming week, and sunny skies are expected on Monday.
