Hinks Garden almost ready

ALPENA, Mich. — Students at Hinks Elementary are cultivating their green thumbs.

After several years of preparation, the Hinks Elementary Garden is taking shape.

Third–grade teacher Nicolle Wieschowski told WBKB multiple groups lent their support for the garden.

Meanwhile, students get to lay down the soil and mulch. And they’ve been having a lot of fun with it.

Students will get to interact with the garden through science classes, learning about the web of life.

They’ll also be raising many types of produce.

Science classes engaging with the garden will be a part of all grade levels.
