Hillman sweeps Posen with rally duck good luck charm
Posen, Mich. — The Posen Vikings hosted the Hillman Tigers for a North Star league baseball battle, and they did not make the trip without their rally duck.
Hillman took the early lead, added another run in the fifth on a grounder by Nic Taratuta and then the Tigers added four of their eight runs in the sixth on errors. Kory Henigan pitched five innings, allowing one run, three hits, eight strikeouts and two walks in Hillman’s 8-4 victory. In game two, the orange and white jumped out to an early lead and defeated the Vikings 11-3.
The Tigers are (12-11) overall and (3-1) in the North Star League-Little Dipper.
Last season, Hillman found the decoy duck in a pond and decided to take it to games after the Detroit Tigers had their rally goose good luck charm. Head Coach Rick Firman came up with the idea to paint it like a tiger. Now the Hillman baseball team takes their rally duck to every game.
