Hillman Softball’s postseason run ends against Pickford in State Quarterfinals 4-5

SAULT STE. MARIE, MI – The Hillman Tigers softball team over the weekend became Regional Champions. However for the Lady Tigers the journey wasn’t over just yet. The Hillman softball team today took part in the quarterfinals of the MHSAA Division 4 Softball State Tournament. It would be the best of the best teams in Michigan competing for a state title. Hillman’s first challenge in the quarterfinals was taking on Pickford High School.
This game was by far the closest match of all the quarter finals games in the division. Hillman kept pace with Pickford nearly every step of the way. However, when all was said and done, the Tigers would come up just one run short of moving on in the tournament. Pickford stayed alive and will head to the semi finals. Final score is 5–4.
The Tigers still had an incredible run this postseason that included a Divisional and Regional Championship to boot. A massive congrats to the Hillman softball team on a successful year.
