ALPENA, MI. – The DDA has a chance for Alpena residents to give back to the downtown area.

As summer approaches, the DDA wants to brighten up our downtown area for residents to enjoy.
Volunteers are needed for the clean up and flower planting on May 28th.

“This is the summer months where there are a lot of tourists and people coming home from school. We want to make Alpena look great so that people may consider moving here or coming back more often to support our downtown businesses.” sadi Marketing and Outreach Coordinator, Kady Gehrke.

If you can’t make it out to volunteer, the DDA is also accepting donations to help provide the flower beds.

Those that are looking to sponsor the event can do so by sending a check to the DDA at 124 E. Chisholm St., Alpena, Mi 49707. Each flat of flowers that will be planted along the tree bases is $50 from Kimpfiller’s Produce and Nursery.
