Gray skies tonight to early Thursday and another warm day

High temperatures today reached about 50 degrees across Northeast Michigan nearly 10 degrees warmer than yesterday! A strong breeze out of the south combined with some sunshine earlier today helped warm our temperatures. Since then, cloud cover has increased during the afternoon.

We will see cloudy skies tonight and tomorrow morning, and there is a small possibility of a light rain shower this evening and overnight. Drier weather will build in from the west, giving us clearing skies tomorrow and mainly sunny skies on Friday.

Cloud cover combined with a breeze out of the southwest will act as an insulator overnight, keeping temperatures warm. Low temperatures tonight will drop only to the upper 30s under mostly cloudy skies. Temperatures will start in the lower 40s tomorrow morning, then cloud cover will decrease throughout the day, giving way to some afternoon sunshine. High temperatures should reach close to 50 degrees in the afternoon.

Skies will brighten late tomorrow, then more sunshine is expected on Friday. Friday is looking mainly sunny but a little cooler with high temperatures around 43 degrees and very light winds. On Saturday, a storm system from the Plains will approach Lower Michigan. Depending how far north this storm system gets, we could see some snow showers or a rain/snow mix on Saturday with high temperatures close to 40 degrees. Sunday is looking drier and even colder, mostly sunny and afternoon temperatures around the upper 30s.
