Gov. Whitmer signs mixed spirits bill package into law
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – It will become easier for people to buy ready–to–drink cocktails made right here in Michigan.
“Canned cocktails” have become popular during the pandemic.
Governor Whitmer recently signed several bills into law that will help ease the distribution of the alcohol drinks.
Under the new law, state spirit manufacturers can increase alcohol volume in canned drinks. The levied tax on mixed drinks will also decrease.
The governor said it was the least she could do to help the industry.
At the peak of the pandemic, Michigan’s distilleries helped make hand sanitizer when it was in short supply.
