Fundraising for fireworks
ALPENA, Mich. — The Alpena Area Chamber of Commerce is approximately $9,000 shy of their fundraising goal and need the communities help raising funds.
No one organization funds the show or is committed to making up the difference if totals fall short of the goal. This is why the chamber depends on the community to step in and do their part in the way of contributions.
Although Chamber President Adam Poll is optimistic about fireworks happening this year, he said weather will be the deciding factor.
Poll said there is another opportunity to donate this Friday at the Alpena Chamber. They will be hosting a Drive Thru Sales event where purchases can be made for glow bracelets from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. The event will be located at 235 West Chisholm St.
