Frost Advisory & Freeze Warning For Tonight

Alpena MI – Today we saw temperatures that reached only 57 degrees, it was around 12 degrees colder than average compared to the fact that the high temperature hit 81 degrees yesterday. Most areas are seeing temperatures 15- 20 degrees colder than 24 hours ago, and a lot of that is due to the cold front that has passed through the area and turned our winds around to the Northeast off the lake.  For your Wednesday night we could see frost in our area because our temperatures will fall into the lower 30s and clear skies and calm winds will occur along with it. Inland areas could see a freeze warning due to temperatures dropping below 32 degrees. So if you don’t want your plants to be damaged, covering then up or bringing them inside will be highly recommended. Then after that our temperatures will bounce back in the 70s for your Friday & 80s for your Memorial Day Weekend. On June 1st will start our unofficial start to summer and it will feel a lot like summer in terms of the temperatures. However it will be quite dry as we will be below average when it comes to rain. This could be a problem for the farmers who has crops because of lack of rainfall.
