Friends Together Raises $167,000 in October with Donations Still to be Calculated
Throughout the month of October, Friends Together and others in the community had been raising money for the cancer resource center.
The amount they’ve been able to calculate so far, $117,000, well exceeding the $50,000 match pledged by an anonymous donor from Alpena. The outpouring of support from the community was incredibly important for the fundraising efforts and Friends Together is extremely grateful.
The money will go towards transportation needs including a new van that transports patients to and from treatment, as well as gas cards.
While $117,000 raised sounds great, it will only get better as they continue to calculate the donations. Also, the $50,000 pledged by the donor is not included in the total of $117,000, so the total so far is at least $167,000 that will go towards friends together.
