Four athletes honored in Hillman Hall of Fame Ceremony

HILLMAN, Mich. — The Hillman Tigers enshrined four athletes into their Hall of Fame on Saturday in their sixth and seventh induction ceremonies.

Hillman honored two athletes from their 2020 Hall of Fame class, and two from their 2021 class.

The first honoree was Roger Jones Sr., who passed away in 2012. His wife accepted the award, while his daughter spoke on his behalf. Roger was a member of the 1978 graduating class, and was a three sport athlete who received a full D1 scholarship to play baseball at Central Arkansas.

Todd Dodge was the next athlete honored from the 2020 Hall of Fame class. Todd was a 12-time varsity letterman- qualifying for a letter in each of his four years in high school with the three sports he played. Dodge was a member of the 1997 State Championship baseball team, and graduated that year, as well.

For the 2021 inductees, Jessica Tebo was the first. Jessica played volleyball, basketball, and softball and earned 11 letters during her career. Her former coaches mentioned that no one could quite pass the rock like Jessica.

The last athlete was Tim Jones, nephew of Roger Jones Sr. Tim showed off his old Tigers memorabilia- hats, banquet tickets, and T-shirts. Jones was a member of Hillman’s 1992 State Championship baseball team.
