Footballs First Look: Rogers City

ROGERS CITY, MI- The Rogers City Hurons come into the 2022 season with expectations high. After a 2021 season that included eight wins and the playoff berth, they expect further success in 2022.

Head coach Jesse Fenstermaker is not trying to look to far ahead but is pleased with the mentality of his team. “Day one, they were ready to go. The effort and hustle was where it needed to be.”

With 12 seniors, most of whom are playing their fourth year on varsity, the players expect to see wins on the record. Senior OL/DL Dylan LaFleche is expected to see time on both sides of the ball and is one of the four year players the staff expects to lead. “I am excited to take on that leadership skill, it is my senior year and the group is expecting to win.”

Having 12 seniors is a blessing for the staff, Fenstermaker added “It takes a lot of the pressure off of me. They know what is expected, and they set an example for the younger guys.”

The Hurons open up the season on August 26th, taking on Charleton-Heston.

Footballs First Look will air at 6 and 11 on WBKB on weekdays up until the start of the regular season.
