Football’s First Look: Hale

HALE, MI- After a 4-5 season in 2021, the Hale Eagles were hoping to get over the hump and finish with a winning record in 2022. However, they faced the threat of not having enough players to field a team for the 2022 season.

After getting word that they would have enough players to participate in varsity football, Head Coach Doug Bernard has focused on conditioning. The players and staff are aware that many of the players are going to have to play both sides of the ball.

The low numbers have brought the group together. Senior Jeffery Gouan said, “I appreciate all the guys who show up everyday. Without that we would not be able to have a team in my senior year.”

The first game of the season is a week away. The Eagles take on Posen in the opener at home on August 26.
