ALPENA, Mich. — It’s the season of giving, and one local business is doing its part to help kids feel warm and safe.

For the past 10 years, the team at Banner Realty has run a hat and glove drive for the local Salvation Army.

Realtor Robert Sylvester said their drive typically receives about a hundred items annually.

Sylvester said faith plays a big role in the company’s values, and that includes their commitment to the community.

“In everything we do, you can see Jesus’s light. As a matter of fact, this sign back here comes from the Song of Solomon. It says ‘he brought us to his banqueting table, and his banner over us is love.”

Sylvester said the company will accept donations until December 20.

You can drop off kids–sized winter hats, gloves, and mittens during business hours and pick up a complementary bag of treats.

Donors can also enter their names for an after–Christmas prize drawing.
