It was a face-off tonight at Alpena community college between Tom Leonard, Ryan Berman and Mathew Deperno.

All three men are in the running for Michigan Attorney General, some of the topics that took top billing were Covid masks, abortion laws and gun rights.

Out the gate Leonard went after current Attorney General Dana Nessel and Governor Whitmer citing spiking crime rates and the orders governor

Whitmer issued that he says negatively impacted elderly residents in nursing homes.

“And this attorney general has stood silent and did nothing as crime has spikes across the nation. As we get into the issues tonight, my goal is to show you that my team is in the best position to defeat Dana Nessel and we are focused on uniting this party to defeat her in November,” said Tom Leonard.

Candidate Ryan Berman took a different approach stating a list of skills that he says make him the best man for the job.

“I’ve worked in the private sector, the public sector, and ran for state representative to help on a much larger scale. I love helping people, i was raised to use my skills and abilities to help others.”

Mathew Deperno aimed to raise a distinction between him and the other candidates by

announcing how he fought for businesses during the pandemic and calling out candidate Tom Leonard as a progressive lobbyist.
