Exchange Club of Alpena announces scholarships
ALPENA, Mich. —The Exchange Club of Alpena is pleased to offer two separate scholarships to high school seniors.
The Youth of Year $1,000 scholarship recognizes hard-working high school students who attain high levels of scholastic achievement, community involvement and leadership.
The A.C.E. (Accepting the Challenge of Excellence) $1,000 scholarship award recognizes high school students who have had to overcome great physical, emotional or social obstacles and is now eligible for high school graduation.
Applications and other instructions can be picked up at Alpena High School in the career resource center or by contacting Exchange Club Members Stacee Martin at staceemartin512@gmail.com for the Youth of the Year or Tony Suszek at tonysuszek@gmail.com for the A.C.E. award.
The student awarded the scholarship at the local level will automatically be entered into the State of Michigan competition and be eligible for another $1,000 award from the Michigan District Exchange Club. If the student won at the state level, they would be eligible for the National Exchange Club scholarship of $15,000.
The deadline to submit local applications is March 19, 2021.
