Just in time for trout season—Emerick park in Hillman is now open. The park was closed to take care of trimmed trees and seasonal maintenance.
Seasonal maintenance was conducted by the Department of Public Works and consisted of putting in the boat ramp, bringing in the park’s portable toilet’s, and cutting trees that were designated as hazardous.
Last year and continuing this year, crews have been working to provide all campsites with water and electricity.
The village hit the mark of having the campground open before the beginning of trout season for inland waters.
The opening date was the last Saturday of April.
