Ella White PTA Host’s a Book Fair for Parents and Students

The PTA of Ella White Elementary hosted a scholastic book fair, and a pirate themed carnival for students and their families to enjoy last night.

The fundraiser was held in order to get parents involved with their children and help them learn more through reading.

PTA mom, Amanda Repke said activities such as the book fair and carnival are important to show kids that school is important, as well as the involvement within a child’s life.

Repke also said reading is a major key to success for a child’s future.

“Reading is huge. If you don’t have a strong reading foundation you’re not going to be successful. Everything you do in work you read, you write, you have directions that you have to follow. You have documents that you have to prepare, so on and so forth,” Repke said.

The book fair ended today. Activities at the pirate carnival included a ship photo booth, hook ring toss game, and more. Another book fair will be scheduled for the spring semester sometime in 2017.
