Damp Friday through this weekend

A first round of showers has entered Northeast Michigan this afternoon. Showers will remain mostly north of Harrisville tonight through tomorrow afternoon. Showers are forecast to become more widespread Saturday. A broad region of showers currently to our west will drift into the Great Lakes region tomorrow.

Despite mostly cloudy skies, light winds out of the southwest about 5-10 mph pushed temperatures into the upper 40s and 50s during the afternoon.

Overnight, temperatures will cool to a low of 39 degrees with a chance of showers remaining mostly north of Harrisville. Highs tomorrow afternoon are expected to reach the upper 40s with a chance of showers in Northeast Michigan, though the chance of showers will be somewhat lower south of a line from Harrisville to Grayling.

For the trick or treat event tomorrow evening in downtown Alpena, periods of showers are expected. Temperatures will start in the mid-40s at 5 p.m., dropping to the lower 40s during the evening.

The highest chance of showers tomorrow will fall north of M-72, and high temperatures will reach about 47 degrees. Low temperatures predawn Saturday will remain mild, near 40 degrees. On Saturday, the chance of showers will become more widespread, encompassing all of Northeast Michigan with highs in the mid-40s.
