ALPENA, Mich.– The Alcona County Health Center will soon host COVID clinics throughout northern Michigan.

The clinics are part of their “Fighting COVID Together” plan.

They will include COVID test kits and onsite vaccines for anyone in need. Alcona Health Center’s certified physician assistant Bernie O’ Brien tells us why the arrival of at home test kits is such an important measure in fighting COVID.

“It’s been difficult for people to get a hold of them if they want to travel or meet with family members and everything else. This gives us the option to test before we do something or go some place.”

There is a two test-limit on rapid COVID tests, but there is no charge to attend the clinics.

The pop up clinic takes place in Alpena on January 21 from 9am to noon. More dates throughout northern Michigan are listed below.
