Community Foundation awards more than $106,000 in new grants
ALPENA, Mich. — The Community Foundation for Northeast Michigan recently awarded a new round of community grants covering a four-county area that includes Alcona, Alpena, Montmorency and Presque Isle Counties. The Board of Trustees approved grants totaling $84,289.
Some of our Community Impact Grants include:
- Alcona Community Schools – awarded $3,000 for the Elementary School Outdoor Classroom;
- Alcona Historical Society – awarded $2,972 for the Sprucing Up Bailey School project (pictured right);
- Northeast Michigan Community Partnership – awarded $2,735 for the Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training program;
- Presque Isle District Library – awarded $1,500 for the Summer Reading program;
- Presque Isle County Historical Museum – awarded $2,500 for the Rogers City Sesquicentennial Timeline project;
- Rogers City Area Seniors – awarded $3,500 for the CARE (Covid Aid Relief Endeavor) Extension program;
- Boys and Girls Club of Alpena – awarded $3,500 for the Triple Play (Mind, Body, Soul) program;
- Hospice of Michigan – awarded $3,500 for the wE – Connect (Video Connect Project – Virtual Care and Companionship at End of Life) program;
- St. Paul Lutheran Church – awarded $1,670 for the Gratitude Lunches – Dinner on a Doorknob program
