Chance of Rain Tuesday Night-Wednesday; Heating Up Late-Week

The high temperature in Alpena only reached 68 degrees today largely because of a breeze out of the east about 10 mph, off of Lake Huron. Some places farther inland made it into the lower 70s, and all areas enjoyed sunny skies all day.

Fair weather over Northeast Michigan will gradually shift to the east. Clouds will gradually increase from the southwest tomorrow. Rain, currently over Iowa, will move into Northeast Michigan tomorrow night, lasting through Wednesday afternoon.

Tomorrow morning will start with more sun than clouds and temperatures in the 50s. Cloud cover will increase during the afternoon with a high of 74 degrees. Any rainfall should hold off until tomorrow night.

Showers and a breeze out of the east will put a damper on Wednesday’s temperatures. After a high of 74 degrees tomorrow, temperatures will dip to a high of 69 degrees on Wednesday. As skies clear out, warmer temperatures will also move in. High temperatures will warm into the 80s Thursday and Friday. A breeze out of the southwest combined with enough sunshine might push the temperatures into the lower 90s this weekend.

Tomorrow will start mostly sunny early then become mostly cloudy later in the day with a high of 74 degrees. Showers will spread over Northeast Michigan Tuesday night and Wednesday. Skies should begin to clear Wednesday night, and Thursday will be mostly sunny with temperatures climbing into the 80s. Temperatures will warm up further for the end of the week.
