Boat Show Brings Boat Lovers to Northern Lights Arena

The start of boat season is near, and local vendors had their boats on display over the weekend at the Alpena Aplex.

Vendors from all over the area showed boat lovers their selections for the season, making it extra easy for people to compare prices and models instead of going from store to store.

Boat salesman Nathan Engstrom said on top of being able to compare boats side by side, vendors are offering great deals at this time.

“You’re gonna be wanting to compare, so you can put them right next to each other and really get a good avenue. It’s also the best time to get the best deal on a boat. You know, the manufacturers provide some really good incentives so you can save quite a bit of money by looking at a boat show versus just walking into a dealership,” Engstrom said.

In the summer, Alpena sees a huge spike in visitors, which centers on Lake Huron and the boating community that comes with it.

That’s why it’s so important to check out watercrafts now, to be prepared for the summer months.

“Usually July and august is our busiest month, time of the year on the lake. We’re north of Alpena on an inland lake but it’s a big lake and you see a lot of people on Long Lake and Grand Lake on July and August.,” Dodge said.

If you couldn’t make today’s boat show, you can check it out Sunday from 10am until 2 pm at Northern Lights Arena.
