Besser Museum Wins Giving Tuesday Golden Goose Award

The Community Foundation for Northeast Michigan, a charitable organization that provides ways for people to support their community, has awarded Besser Museum the Giving Tuesday Golden Goose Award for their charity work over the last week.

Giving Tuesday is the day that follows black Friday and Cyber Monday, and it’s meant for people to give back to their communities, a contrast to the former, in which the goal is consumption, and taking in an urgent manner. The Community Foundation for Northeast Michigan raised a total of over $314,000 with the help of 62 different nonprofit organizations in the northeast Michigan area in a 24 hour period. Besser Museum raised almost $33,000 of that number, and was awarded Grant the Golden Goose, which has been given out annually since 2017.
