Besser Museum Celebrates 50 Years: Season of Light Opening Reception
The Besser Museum celebrated the holiday season and 50 years, with their Season of Light opening reception. There were over 30 Christmas trees this year.
Guest enjoyed history facts about Christmas, and traditional features throughout the night.
Executive Director, Chris Witulski said this year’s theme was chosen to help celebrate the installation of the new digital planetarium.
“This year our theme is stars of wonder: a celestial celebration and that theme is to celebrate the completion of our capitol campaign. We launched the campaign in January, well actually in November at the season of light to say ‘you know what in 2016 is Besser Museum’s 50th anniversary and we want to upgrade our planetarium.’ The equipment was 50 years old. And so we started a capital campaign. Our goal was 500 thousand dollars and we have exceeded that goal,” Witulski said.
Besser Museum opened in 1966. The season of light exhibit will be open for 6 weeks and ends on December 31st.
