Besser and Lincoln Elementary Honor Veteran’s Day
Besser and Lincoln Elementary will join together this year in celebration of Veteran’s Day at the APlex.
Having outgrown their previous location for the event at Besser Elementary, fifth grade teacher Sara Winter says students from both schools will be bussed to the APlex, where patriotic art and poetry will decorate the walls.
When asked why Besser Elementary holds such a special place in their hearts and calenders for veterans, first grade teacher Julie Wiechec says they just want veterans to feel their appreciation. “We think that it’s so important just to honor those that have served our country and show them we care for them. And we want them to feel appreciated.”
Besser Elementary encourages veterans who have not signed up yet to do so, as the school hopes to honor as many service men and women as possible with this celebration.
The event will take place at the APlex on November 10th starting at 9:15 am.
