Athletic Club takes part in gift drive
ALPENA, Mich. — Cardio’s not the only way you can give your heart a workâout at the Bay Athletic Club this month.
A cardboard box sits among the club’s holiday decorations, awaiting presents for families in need.
Guests can bring in donations for the Vietnam Veterans of America’s gift drive until Monday, December 13.
Amanda Freeland, director of membership at the Club, said they’re in need of gifts for kids nine and up.
She added that guests can donate more than just toys.
“Sports equipment, activities kids can do out in the yard, sports nets, things like that. And things for young ladies like hair dryers, curling irons, or slippers. Socks and winter gear like hats and gloves [are also welcome].”
Of kids nine and up, the VVA needs presents for teen boys and girls, especially.
