Artists unveiling sculptures that highlight Alpena’s industries on Friday
Each sculpture will feature a different industry that helped build Alpena.
Alpena — A grand unveiling for a number of new sculptures will take place on Friday evening.
The sculptures represent the industries that helped build Alpena. Concrete technology, fishing, hunting, logging, and a number of other industries will be featured on large boulders in a giant circle, a similar layout to Stonehenge. The ceremony will start at Washington Avenue Park on S 11th Avenue from 5:30 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.
Folks will then head over to Alpena Community College where a concluding ceremony will take place at 6:15 p.m. on the east lawn pavilion, right next to Van Lare Hall.
