Alpena Township begins looking at other options for fire department
ALPENA, Mich. – Alpena Township Board of Trustees is now looking at what options are available to restructure the fire department.
This comes after the board voted to not contract with the city.
The board met early Wednesday to begin discussions on what the future now holds.
The board said working together with the fire department is key to the success of the restructure.
“Keeping things moving in a positive direction and foster communication,” said Trustee Laura Ellery-Somers.
“Working together to “improve communication and rebuild trusts,” said Trustee Steve Lappan.
Wednesday the board talked about establishing a tasks force to focus on the restructuring.
