Alpena Soccer Falls in District Championship
PETOSKEY,MI- It was more than a successful season for the Alpena Boys Soccer team. However, they had one thorn in their side all season, the Petoskey Northmen.
After falling to the top seeded Northmen twice in the regular season, they were hoping the third time was the charm.
Once again, the high powered Northmen offense was too much for Alpena to handle as Petoskey took home the district championship with a 4-1 victory.
The Northmen controlled the first half, racing out to a 3-0 lead. They took a 4-0 lead, before the Wildcats tallied their only goal, a header by Austin Townsend.
The Wildcats finish the 2022 season with a 14-6-3 record, which included playoff victories over Cadillac and Bay City Western.
