Alpena Senior Citizens Center Holds Christmas Lunch and Dinner for the Holidays
Ham, potatoes, carrots, and more who wouldn’t want to be apart of today’s Christmas meal, helping seniors enjoy a moment in time serving up holiday cheer is the way to go.
“We as a team enjoy giving them a nutritional meal, but it’s also the socialization of having a family atmosphere making new memories because many of them don’t have families that they are able to spend with so they come here everyday and we want to give them something very special so we provide a great meal. We are their family and we want them to feel love throughout the holidays,” Director, Anne Hepburn said.
There were over 100 people at today’s Christmas lunch. Director Anne Hepburn said it’s about warming the hearts of seniors as they come and leave the center.
“You know when I hear people say they appreciate the meal, they also say ‘it’s so fun to be laughing and just sharing stories’ that’s what I love is the collaboration with them all and they obviously go home with a good feeling for the day and hopefully that will carry through the holiday season,” she continued.
