Alpena Salvation Army asking for winter clothes donations

ALPENA, Mich. — The Salvation Army of Alpena is looking for winter clothes donations for children in the county. They hold this drive every year, but this time, they’re expecting an increased need for donations because of the Coronavirus and the financial issues it’s caused.

Some of the items they’re looking for include new or clean: coats, scarfs, hats, gloves, boots, and snow-pants of all sizes. Last year, the Salvation Army struggled to provide larger sizes.

Drop off times are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at their office located at 722 N. 2nd Ave. in Alpena. Over the years, they have provided hundreds of outer winter clothes for kids in need.
