Alpena Rolls into Little League District 8 Final

GAYLORD,MI- After a pool play slate where Alpena outscored opponents 38-2, they took on Gaylord in the District 8 semi finals.

Alpena wasted no time getting going, as they erupted for 7 runs in the top of the first.

Starter Zach Orban went 2-2/3 innings for Alpena, striking out 6.  He was pulled at 65 pitches, which keeps him eligible to pitch for Sunday’s championship game against Traverse City.

Alpena would improve to 4-0 overall in the tournament as they took down Gaylord 16-2.

The District 8 final takes place Sunday at 1 PM in Gaylord. The winner between Traverse City and Alpena advances to the Michigan State tournament.
