Alpena Post Office Receives Major Awards for Customer Service

The Alpena Post Office has something to smile about.

The mailing center has won two awards for their outstanding customer service this year.

Postmaster Rob Gross received the United Postal Service Vice President’s Award for delivery precision, and customer service.

The Alpena Post Office received awards thanks to the high scores completed by customer surveys located on the back of receipts.

Gross said he and his fellow employees are dedicated to making people happy when it comes to their mail and packages, while going the extra mile to solve problems.

“It’s just about keeping the customers happy and satisfied. You know you’re not going to satisfy 100% of the people 100% of the time but if we can at least get them the answers that they need and the questions that they have. A lot of people move back and forth and it could be frustrating for them and try to help them with that…or if we loose a package we can find that for them and that’s what it’s all based on,” Gross said.

The Alpena Post Office also received the Best of the Best Post Office of Similar Size Award for the greater Michigan district.

This is the first time anyone has ever won quarterly awards, and/or the Vice President’s Award.
