Alpena man arrested for methamphetamine

ALPENA, Mich. — Michigan State Police have arrested an Alpena man for one count of possession of methamphetamine.

On Sunday, March 14, a trooper from MSP Alpena Post was called to a residence on Hunt Road in Wellington Township. The homeowner found a brown paper bag containing $100 cash, an SD memory card and two small bags containing a white powdery substance, which later tested positive for methamphetamine, on his front porch. Security cameras captured a male subject walking up the driveway to the home at approximately 1:00 a.m. and leaving a short time later. The homeowner suspected this person was a neighbor.

The trooper spoke with the neighbor and his son, 30-year-old Gregory Thomas Robinson. Robinson stated he owed the neighbor money and left the bag on the front porch. He did not realize the bag had drugs in it. The homeowner who called police stated Robinson did not owe him any money.

Robinson was arrested and lodged in the Alpena County Jail. He was arraigned on March 16, 2021 in the 88th District Court in Alpena for one Possession of Controlled Substance Methamphetamine. His bond was set at $35,000 cash surety. His next scheduled court appearance is on April 7, 2021 at 2:30 p.m.
