Alpena Hockey Prepares For Thanksgiving Shootout
ALPENA, MI- The Alpena High School Hockey team has gotten off to a good start and is ready to host the 2022 Thanksgiving Shootout.
The Wildcats defeated Hancock Central 5-3 in the opener. Anden Marceau netted a hat trick. Harrison Kaszubowski scored two power play goals in the period.
The team is back at it on Black Friday as they host Sault Ste. Marie. They host Kingsford on Saturday.
Coach Ben Henry spoke about the challenges of playing teams from the Upper Peninsula. “They play a more physical game, a lot of teams down South play a finesse style. The UP teams play a much different style.”
The Wildcats look to keep their strong start to the season going. Puck drop against Sault Ste. Marie is set for 7:30 PM on Black Friday at Northern Lights Arena.
