ALPENA, Mich. — The Alpena County Board of Commissioners held their meeting Tuesday night which began with prayer and slowly led to a heated exchange between committee members.
The exchange came after the question about who authorized the new roof on the jail was posed. Committee members also went back and forth about why bids were not presented and why there was no approval by the finance committee. One committee member said, “It had to be done and they couldn’t wait any longer.”
A motion was made to end the building committee authority and return decisions regarding the new sheriffs building and jail to other committees immediately.
