Alpena baseball, softball guaranteed at least share of Big North Conference
Both Alpena softball and baseball can clinch the Big North Conference title with a single win on Tuesday in Petoskey.
Alpena, Mich — The end of the regular season for both baseball and softball is fast approaching. Teams are shoring up their conference standings and trying to gain momentum for districts. Both Alpena’s baseball and softball teams are in positions to finish the regular season in a great spot heading into districts.
The Wildcats’ softball team is guaranteed their 9th consecutive of the Big North Conference. A single win on Tuesday against Petoskey guarantees the outright title. Alpena softball is currently 8-0 in conference play so far this season.
The Wildcat baseball team is facing the same scenario. The boys are currently 7-1 in conference play and can also get the outright clinch with a single win against Petoskey on Tuesday.
Both teams will play at 4:15pm Tuesday in Petoskey with the BNC title on the line.
