Alex Kaems Hits 11 Three Pointers as Tawas Takes Down Alpena

ALPENA, MI- In high school basketball when a player hits two three pointers you take notice. When he hits four it is time to make sure he doesn’t get a clean look. When he hits seven there is almost nothing you can do. When he hits 11, you just acknowledge that he cannot miss.

Well that nightmare became reality for Alpena as Tawas senior Alex Kaems hit 11 of 14 three point shots in a 76-40 Tawas victory.

It was a three point barrage for the Braves who hit 18 on the night. But Kaems was the story, after hitting just one shot in the first, he knocked down five threes in the second. He did not stop after halftime, hitting five more to end the night with 11 makes from downtown

Tawas led from jump in this one. Alpena hung around for most of the first half, but the Braves shooting quickly turned this one into a blowout.

The win brings the Braves to 7-3 on the season. Alpena drops to 2-8.
