The high–powered winds that blew through northeast Michigan this weekend knocked out power for some in Alcona. The county clerk said they are working to get that power back on.
Alcona County Schools were all without power yesterday, and students got the day off. They are expected to return to classes today. With midterm elections today as well, schools are often a polling location, and some are concerned that they won’t be able to vote in person. County clerk Stephany Eller says they are down to just two precincts without power, and they’re doing everything they can to get it back.
“Four of the six have been fixed, but they are hoping to get the other two done, and it could be work on generators, or as soon as possible,” she said.
Eller also said polling locations are their highest priority.
