Alcona County District Health Department #2 Has a New Home in Harrisville on Main

Harrisville has a new addition to Main Street. After being in a 100-year-old building for quite some time, the Alcona County District Health Department #2 is excited to move into the old pharmacy on Main Street in Harrisville. “On Monday, June 17th, from 12:30 to 2:00 pm, we’re going to have a grand opening,” Director of District Health Department Denise Bryan said. This health center is a big addition to the small Alcona community.

“We were really excited for the project because Alcona County is one of the smaller counties in the state of Michigan. And when you take care of the small counties, along with all the big counties, then you really delivered needed services and resources to our communities that are so deserving. The Health Department offers a wide array of services to Alcona County clinical component, where we do immunizations, the work program, Children’s special health care. And we also have nurses that go into the homes and help with maternal, infant health, environmental, health services, ah, for permits for food services. We additionally inspect pools and campgrounds,” Bryan said.
