AHS Robotics Team Receives Donation from HPC Credit Union

The Alpena High School Robotics team has been looking for some funding help, and some of that funding came in the form of a $1,000 check from HPC Credit Union in Alpena.

Building a robot can get expensive, so the robotics team has been in need of this funding. They also need the money to travel to different competitions all over the state and the country. The robotics team has grown over the past couple years, making it to the World Championship in Dallas last year. They’re hoping to get there again this year, and the community hopes so too.

“It was just kind of a no–brainer just because I remember how far they went last year, and it would be awesome to see them do it again this year, so we just wanted to donate, and kind of help them towards that step in getting there,” says Marketing Coordinator at HPC Credit Union Ellie Kindt.

The robotics team is appreciative of the support they’ve received from the community as well.

“It’s an honor, and it’s really kind of them to do that, and it means a lot to us, cause without them, we wouldn’t be able to compete, so I mean we’re incredibly grateful for it,” says Audrey Decker, a member of the Alpena High School robotics team.

The robotics team is hoping they can make it back to states for the 9th straight time and nationals for the 8th time in nine years.
