Reed City’s Zach Saez is heading to ACC

ALPENA, Mich.— The Alpena Community College Lumberjacks men’s basketball team struggled during the 2019–20 season. They only won two games and one of those victories was in conference play (MCCAA). A lot of that had to do with not having a true point guard to lead the team.

That changed on Saturday when they signed Reed City point guard Zach Saez.

Saez spent all four years on varsity. During his junior year, he earned academic all-state and all-conference honorable mention. In his senior campaign, he averaged 14 points per game and was named 1st team all-conference. So for head coach Mark Jacobs, this signing was a no brainer.

“Saez is someone who will lead and direct which is something we really need on this team going forward,” said Jacobs.

During his two years at ACC, Saez plans to major in Utility Tech.
