Friday night, the 2nd Chance Animal Shelter held their third annual, A Tail To Remember Dinner and Auction. The treasurer for 2nd Chance Animal Shelter, Leanne Bloom, said “Well tonight we are excited that we have our biggest fundraiser of the year, A Tail To Remember Dinner and Auction.”

This being such a big occasion, the local businesses surrounding the shelter stepped up and helped by donating items for the auction. Bloom stated, “We have lots of great items. We have a ton of wonderful, silent auction items, we have restaurant gift certificates, we have some gas gift cards. A ton of handmade items and a lot of product, and our live auction is fabulous. We have some chairs, we have a charter fishing package, we have wine tastings, so we have something for everyone tonight.

Each year, the goal has been to raise even more money for the shelter, with last year’s total reaching over $30,000 from last year’s fundraiser. Bloom went on to say, “Yeah, this is our third one, and we’re sold out again this year, and we are really hopeful that we beat last year’s earnings, which was just over $30,000.” She also said, “There’s some super generous people that are here tonight, and they really want to support the animals.”

Leanne mentioned that without the community, there wouldn’t be a 2nd Chance Animal Shelter and a great place to save the animals. “There’s been such amazing community support for this project. We’ve had so many people contact us to donate items, and were sold out tonight, so people that couldn’t make it donated items, and we just really appreciate all that the communities done, to support our new shelter.”
