5th Down: Week 6

Week Six of the High School football season was kicked off Friday night. The Hillman Tigers were able to grab a win over the Hale Eagles. Aj Jones hit Trenton Taratuta for two touchdowns in the first half as the Tigers rolled to a 48-8 win.
Rogers City (6-0) maintained its undefeated recprd as they took down Whittemore-Prescott 50-14. Isaac Paull ran for 170 yards and two touchdowns in the first half. Including a school record 96 yard touchdown run on the Hurons first play from scrimmage in the game.
Au-Gres Sims (5-1) extended their winning streak to 4 games with their 66-30 win over Mio in our game of the week. Keagan Bender ran for two touchdowns in the first half. The Wolverines have averaged 60 points a game over their last four games. They take on undefeated Alcona next week.
Gaylord spoiled homecoming for Alpena at Wildcat Stadium. The Blue Devils held Alpena scoreless en route to a 35-0 win. The loss drops Alpena to 1-5.
In other NSL action, Atlanta defeated Heston 60-6. NSL action continues Saturday. Posen hosts Onekama at 1 PM. Alcona takes on 4-1 Inland Lakes on the road at 7.
