3rd Annual Inspire Alpena Shares Acts of Love and Peace
Thanksgiving is over, but that doesn’t mean spreading love is. Local yoga instructors hosted their third annual inspire Alpena Saturday at the Center of the Healing Arts Yoga Studio.
Inspire Alpena is a day of sharing compassion, connection, and good deeds throughout the community.
Residents participated with meditation, inspirational videos, and music. A brainstorming exercise was also done, as participants created ideas to go out into the community to spread messages of love and peace.
“I think it’s good for the person and the person who is receiving and that has the power to have a ripple affect. So whether it is a smile or a compliment or something that we might think is just really simple but has a deep impact and that inspires others to do the same. It’s part of the love that within us,” Nowaczyk said.
Some of the acts of love that were done over the weekend and in the past included visiting nursing homes, giving out gloves to the needy, feeding nurses at the hospital, volunteering at the Huron Humane Society, and more.
