For this week’s senior living segment we focus on strengthening the hips by doing yoga.
Seniors often time loose their balance, and start having pains within their body at a certain age. Yoga is one way to help with those life challenges.
In Wednesday’s yoga session, yoga instructor Kerry Mase led her class with hip exercises that could help in many ways, including balance.
Mase also says yoga is great for people who sit a lot to rebalance the body. Mase’s yoga class is a slower moving class, that isn’t necessarily geared towards seniors, but they are the majority who attend.
Mase says yoga is about connecting with your body, and getting a positive experience. Mase has been practicing yoga for many years. She said another benefit to the class is becoming family.
Mase’s yoga class is every Monday and Wednesday starting at 9 am.
