YAC grants available in Iosco County
IOSCO COUNTY, Mich. — The Iosco County Community Foundation is now accepting grant applications for its Youth Advisory Council. Youth grants are for non-profit organizations that serve Iosco County.
Grants awarded in the past have supported mental health programs, Special Olympics of Michigan, and local schools. In Iosco County the grants have been given out since 1998.
The kids, who are a part of the Youth Advisory Council, are the decision makers as to where the funds go. According to Marketing Communications Director Christine Hitch, there is a lot of need in all of our communities but particularly with our youth.
Hitch said this is a source of funding where people can apply for up to $2500 to help out their community through these programs. She adds that this is a unique program that is helping to grow the next generation of philanthropists.
The deadline to apply is February, 1.
