HILLMAN, Mich. — Hillman welcomed back two hometown heroes on Saturday.
For the 76th annual victory–in–japan parade, the Hillman VFW called up veterans Richard and Charles Brown.
The brothers served in different branches during World War II and have been a part of Hillman’s parade from the beginning.
However, the pair had to forego the festivities last year for COVID safety concerns.
Both brothers remember being very relieved when they heard the war ended all those decades ago.
Though Hillman’s changed a lot over the decades, these brothers say they’re proud to call it their home town. The festival wrapped up on Sunday with a car show and golf tournament.
